Which awards will be featured at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Awards 2023?
The Fatima bint Mubarak Women Sports Awards will feature 11 awards in three categories:
Category 1 – Individual Achievements:
- Best Arab Women Athlete
- Best Emirati Women Athlete
- Best Youth Athlete
- Best Paralympic Athlete
- Best Female / Male Coach
- Best Sports Media
- Best Sport Mother
Category 2 – Federations and other Organizations:
- Best Youth Development Program
- Best Team
- Best Sports Creative Initiative (includes sports development research, technology and sports innovation):
Category 3 – Sports Personality:
- Arab Sport Personality of the Year
What awards can I apply for?
Upon meeting the award criteria and the general entry requirements, you can apply to awards in category 1 and category 2 only. There is no entry for awards category 3.
What are the general entry requirements?
To apply for an award, you:
- Must meet the criteria of the award you are applying for
- Must have not violated the ethical standards and values of international sport, as recognised by the International Olympic Committee and other leading organizations
- Must demonstrate their top achievements, performances, impact and results
- Award submissions must relate to activities which took place between 1 June 2021 and 1 July 2022.
- Submission of applications in both Arabic and English language
Can I apply for more than one award?
Yes, if you meet the award criteria and the general entry requirement.
Can winners from the previous cycles apply?
Yes, if you have overachieved and your new achievement is within the timeframe of the awards cycle.
Can I nominate someone else?
Yes, you can so long as you are authorized, and the application meets the award criteria and the general entry requirements.
When is the last day to submit my application?
Submission deadline is 12 August 2022
The Fatima bint Mubarak Women Sports Awards nomination will run from July 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023.
The judging will take place over three phases
PHASE I – Review and audit by the Award Committee on all applications to confirm that all terms and conditions of the Award are met
Phase II – Review of applications by the award committee and selection of a maximum of five nominees for the award
Phase III – Review the list of candidates and vote collectively to select winners
Award winners will be announced on 15 November 2023 during the Awards Ceremony.
Who are the judges?
The judges committee consists of key individuals from the world governing bodies, sports industry influencers and media personalities. Further information will be released in due course.
Is there a prize money?
Yes, total prize money fund is AED 1.3 million for category 1, awards 1 and 2 prize is 300,000 and 3 to 6 prize is 100,000
100,000 for each category 2 award. There is no prize money for category 3 awards.
There is no prize money for category 3 awards
Are these female only awards?
Yes, all awards, except for the Best Coach award, are open to female submissions only.
How many winners are expected?
There will be a total of 10 awards and 10 winners.
Is the Best Athlete of Determination award open to Athletes from Special Olympics and Paralympic Games only?
No, this award is open to athletes with intellectual disabilities and athletes with physical and hearing disabilities.
