FATIMA BINT MUBARAK AWARD VALUE EXCEEDS A MILLION AND A HALF DIRHAMS, FIGURES REVEALED

Abu Dhabi, July 18 - The Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy revealed the value and total prizes for Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Women's Sports. The award is now open for nomination and registration until the 8th of August 2022, and the prize money value exceeds a million and a half Dirhams.
The award is the first of its kind in the region and the Arab world, which aspires to highlight the achievements and successes of women in their sports career, and to appreciate their role in inspiring and motivating generations towards excellence in all regional and international sports events.
The award comes within the framework of the Academy's permanent efforts to support the status of Emirati and Arab women. It also aims to contribute to the formation of an annual competitive initiative to attract sports talents at the local as well as Arab and international levels, in addition to value their efforts in the sports field’s competition.
The award is supervised by H. H. Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Fatima bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, and President of the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies Clubs. Her great willingness to add new categories to this year’s ceremony resulted in a noticeable raise in the total value of the prizes, for both the individual and the sports’ organizations levels.
This year’s competition includes six categories (individuals), ranging from 100,000 Dirhams to 500,000 Dirhams. The highest prize is for the Best Arab Sportswoman at 500,000 Dirhams. The other prize values stand at: the reward for the Best Emirati athlete at 300,000 Dirhams, the reward for the Best Young Athlete at 100,000 Dirhams, the reward for the Best Paralympic Athlete at 100,000 Dirhams, the reward for the Best Coach (Female and Male) at 100,000 Dirhams, and the reward for the Best Sports Media at 100,000 Dirhams.
The second category honors sports federations and institutions, and the prizes range between 100,000 and 300,000 Dirhams. The category includes Best Youth Development Program at 100,000 Dirhams, Best Team at 300,000 Dirhams, and the Best Sports Creative Initiative (Includes Sports Development Research, Technology And Sports Innovation) at 1,000 Dirhams.
The award also includes an appreciation category for the Sports Personality of the Year at the level of the Arab world, which offers a tribute to those who actively contributed to widen the horizon of women’s sports.
The Academy called on all sports institutions and federations concerned with the initiative to register for the award and to nominate those who meet the conditions to qualify for the award. They also invited individuals who are qualified to register.

The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) is a not-for-profit government entity of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Established in October 2010, the Academy is headed by its Chairwoman, HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and is dedicated to promoting and facilitating women’s sports in the UAE.
